I'm calling VINVIN and that's how I write
...
Vinvin is an author because author,
"it's like a writer, but who has not written a book yet". But it will
not be long.
His nickname, people think it's a little
nickname for Vincent. But his real name is Cyrille (with two L) of Lasteyrie du
Saillant, nothing to see, even if it slams. In fact, Vinvin, it comes from his
first blog opened in 2004 and called 20/20 because he wrote down all the stuff
of life on 20.
Vinvin is pro in storytelling. He is one
of the founding partners of Storycircus, the company that produces
"DataGueule" and "Recettes Pompettes" (executive prod). He
also gives lectures on artificial intelligence and how we are all going to be
eaten by robots. And also conferences on creativity and risk taking, including
TEDx Paris which he is a pillar. Web enthusiast, he also presented Le grand
webzé and Vinvinteur on France 5.
From time to time, not enough to his
taste, he plays comedy, on stage (A my dear me and He is where the happiness?
DTC) or in web series, of which he writes the texts.
The rest of the time, he lives "in
the west". And then, he writes, writes and writes things and things.
Right now, what are you writing on?
My book "And why not! Which I just
finished financing on Ulule, will be released in April / May. And, suddenly, I
may be able to say "writer". No, I do not think so, I'm not ready. It
is a collection of more than a hundred texts in which I speak of everything and
nothing, absolutely loose. In the book, thanks to the large overrun of the
initial funding, I will be able to work a dozen illustrators who will come to
interfere in the text. A kid's dream ... We will also sing, with all the people
who have chosen this counterpart, something like "We are the world"
with helmets and deeply generous attitudes.
I also work on a sketch we would like to
shoot for the web, something with people in it. It would be funny and moving at
the same time, a bit like a feature film but shorter. There would be replicas,
a decor, technicians that we would not see in the image otherwise it would make
amateur ...
Your first memories of writing?
I started writing when I was old enough
to hold a pen. But I started with drawing. I kept all my first stories about
Indian and cowboys. I note that when we are small, we draw zizis to the
gentlemen. As to be sure of what we draw. That said, when I look at the
drawings where I represented women, they were recognized by their long hair in
the shape of sticks. Bizarre.
Where did the desire to write come from?
Because I was an only son and I had to
invent stories or I would shoot myself before I reached the age of reason. I
emptied my toy box of all his toys and I sat at the bottom of the chest with a
notebook. And I wrote.
When did you feel professional?
I started direct marketing by writing
advertising flyers for Atlas Editions. The adventures of Barbie in 50 cards or
the history of Egypt with a kit to win and a size pencils Nefertiti.
Collections for cheap that the guys only made if they had more than 3,000 bugs
to order them: super profitable. I did this three years before threatening to
blow up the building. They transferred me to the holiday catalogs.
