benefits of camping with your family
Why camping with your family? The reasons are numerous.
Louise Gagnon, a camping enthusiast and Director of Communications at the
Quebec Federation of Camping and Caravanning, reveals 9 advantages of choosing
this activity.
1. Offers a more economical solution
Camping can reduce some costs. Accommodation is cheaper
than renting a hotel or motel room. For meals, no need to go to the restaurant,
because we prepare good food with the food we have at hand. What's more, it's a
way to discover corners of the country that we would not otherwise see.
2. Ties up links
Great way to spend time with family, camping helps to
tighten the links sometimes flayed by the frantic pace of everyday life.
3. Create unforgettable memories
You only have to think about awakenings in the tent, the
evenings around the campfire to eat grilled marshmallows, new friendships,
laughter and all the occasions that give rise to memorable memories.
4. Lets enjoy the outdoors
This is an opportunity to get in touch with nature, to
observe birds and other animals, to admire the flora and to take part in
activities offered on or near campsites. Some sites have pools and playgrounds.
Others allow fishing, boating or hiking, for example.
5. Disconnect electronics
It's a time to disconnect. No television or video games;
we shut down computers, cell phones, and other electronic gadgets that invade
our lives. And while there, we even put the watch!
6. Develops a sense of responsibility and autonomy
Everyone participates in the tasks; the transport of the
luggage, the installation of the camp, the preparation of the meals, the chore
of dishes, etc. Curiously, it's easier than at home!
7. Sleep aid
Nothing like a day out in the open air to sleep more
quickly.
8. Promotes resourcefulness
Sometimes you have to be creative with activities,
unexpected events, or the whims of Mother Nature.
9. Please everyone
There are campgrounds for all tastes; from rustic camping
(with your own equipment) to all-inclusive accommodation (ready-to-camp) in a
yurt or prospector's tent for greater comfort. You can also choose a site at
the top of a mountain, in the middle of a forest or on the edge of the water
